hello
i need your help again, since you have been a great help in the past. i know im not posting to the right spot, but i didnt know where to put ne questions.
first off, my laptop died yesterday, the fan quit. i tried getting it apart to take a look , but that was no easy task as some of the wires wouldnt come undone and i couldnt get the top off for the last step.anyhow….getting back on topic, i grabbed my sons acer notebook to use, since he wont use it, says it to slow and keeps bouncing off the internet, even when it says connected.(and our other computers are connected fine, so i assume its just this notebook with the problem)
well, he was right, its very difficult to get a connection, and it does say its connected. web pages dont always open. so im hoping you can send a magic soluton my way on what to try next.
it has 91% free space, so its not full by any means.

Well, I’ve had Google Wave for the longest time now, and I’ve tried out several aspects of it, so I think I have a few things to say.

First of all, like everyone else, when I saw the YouTube video, I got all excited and requested an invite. I saw (and still see) great potential for waves as the “communication of the future”.

However, the big problem is… Nobody uses it! Why that could be, I have no idea…
I think the big thing is: Everybody is so used to email that they see wave, think it looks cool, and have no idea how to use it (no, I don’t mean how to use the features, I mean what is wave good for). I wish there were a simple solution to this… Suggestions, anyone???

Really, while Wave itself is powerful, the real power is in the extensions/gadgets. With Wave Teleconferencing, or collaborative drawings with “Napkin”, you can do all kinds of stuff never imaginable with email.

my computer has a virus and i didnt have anti-virus software actiated and got blue screen of death and kearnal dump now cant start up in normal mode have to do f8 and use safe mode with network. what should i do and should i do a factory reset. help please

I’m trying to follow the instructions above and I’m getting an error when I execute ComboFix that says:

Windows cannot find NircmdB.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly and try again….

I’m on Windows Server 2003 which has posed some problems with running some other malware removers I’ve tried in the course of trying to resolve this problem. They aren’t compatible. Any suggestions?

Hi Brad,
Please try booting your computer into safe mode (hold the F8 key on bootup, and select “Safe mode” from the list). Try installing it again.

Let me know how it goes. If it doesn’t work, we may be able to try some other things.

My computer won’t even let me open up Spybot S&D or install any new malware/virus removal software. Is there any way to force start this stuff??

Hi Leisa,
Sorry about the delayed response. When you are renaming the files, are you ensuring that the extensions are preserved?

For example, let’s say that you have a file: mypicture.jpg. If you wanted to call it “golf-with-friends”, instead, you would need to make sure to call it “golf-with-friends.jpg”.

The important part is the “.jpg”. If you leave that out, the file will be unusable. Of course, if your picture ends in “.png”, etc., you would need to make sure that you used that instead.

hello…me again
sorry to put this here and not ina new thread.(not sure how to start a new one)
I am trying to rename pictures on my computer. it tells me it i rename, the pic may become unusable (which does indeed happen, cause i tried)
any ideas. Both my computers tell me this.
I want to burn these pics onto disc, but i really want them renamed first.
