Microsoft Releases Anti-Virus Program
Microsoft today announced the release of their new anti-virus software. Called Microsoft Security Essentials, it is offered to genuine Windows (i.e. not a stolen copy) users at no cost. Some features include:
- Automatic Updates
- Full Windows compatibility (nice for soon-to-be former McAfee users like me)
- Free
I haven’t tested it myself yet (I didn’t participate in the Beta), but if it works well, then this has been long needed for the PC platform. Let’s hope so.
Also, some are reporting that it doesn’t work on x64.
Let us know your thoughts on it in the comments.
