Microsoft Releases Anti-Virus Program

Microsoft today announced the release of their new anti-virus software. Called Microsoft Security Essentials, it is offered to genuine Windows (i.e. not a stolen copy) users at no cost. Some features include:

I haven’t tested it myself yet (I didn’t participate in the Beta), but if it works well, then this has been long needed for the PC platform.  Let’s hope so.

Also, some are reporting that it doesn’t work on x64.
